水環泵為整體結構---機泵同軸的單級泵。軸封采用機械密封，具有結構簡單，安裝簡單，無油、安全可靠等特點。適用于抽取氣體和濕潤蒸汽，吸氣壓力可達到33mba絕壓（97％真空度），當真空泵在吸氣壓力低于80mba的狀態下*工作時，應聯接氣蝕保護管以對泵進行保護，如配大氣噴射器吸氣壓力可達10mbar，噴射器可直接安裝在真空泵吸氣口上，作為壓縮機使用時，其壓力大至0.26MPA(絕壓）。水環泵及壓縮機被廣泛運用于石油、化工、制藥、食品、制糖工業等領域。由于在工作過程中，氣體的壓縮過程是等溫的，所以在壓縮和抽吸易燃易爆氣體時，不易發生爆炸

（1）水環泵同軸式直聯設計，節省空間，易于安裝：
（2）采用機械密封作為標準配置，消除了泄露，維護簡便；
（3）運行平穩，噪音可降低至62分貝，體積小，易于搬運；
（4）統一的耐腐蝕設計，青銅葉輪提高了泵的耐腐蝕性，不銹鋼材質則更適用于更為苛刻的工作環境；
（5）*的柔性排氣口設計，不會產生過壓縮，確保水環泵在其性能范圍內效率。
優勢：
液環泵大部分是鑄件，加工要求也不高，屬勞動密集型產品，所以國產液環泵在價格上有競爭優勢，關鍵是要改進設計，縮小體積，減輕重量，提高效率，降低能耗。 滑閥泵比較耐用、可靠，國內外各種真空爐、鍍膜機以及干燥、浸漬等設備都是用滑閥泵作為前級泵，但是滑閥泵鑄件重，加工工作量較大。為了使國產滑閥泵能夠進入*市場，必須進一步降低泵的振動噪聲，杜絕噴油和漏油，提高滑閥泵*運行的可靠性。
